The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

I actually watched the movie first and then read the book (I know, sacrilege), which probably helped me picture some parts of the book a bit differently than I would have if I’d read the book first. The movie’s subplots are also slightly simplified. The book is written entirely as letters, so you have to piece together the character descriptions and scenes from various perspectives.

It’s a light read (despite the Nazis), and I have to admit that I enjoyed both the book and the movie (I know, again, sacrilege).
